Jong Hun Choi Introduces Pimoji, a Revolutionary Pill Design for Improved Medication Management
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jong Hun Choi, a Korean designer, has unveiled Pimoji, a groundbreaking pill design aimed at enhancing medication management for the elderly and visually impaired. Inspired by the challenges faced by these demographics, Pimoji introduces a more intuitive approach to pill identification and consumption.
Pimoji is a new type of pill that takes inspiration from human organs, offering a unique and easily distinguishable shape. With the aim of addressing the difficulties faced by older individuals in differentiating between medications, Pimoji's organ-shaped design provides a clear visual indication of the specific symptoms or organs the drug targets. This innovative approach not only benefits the elderly but also aids the visually impaired in identifying and consuming their medications.
Choi's design process involved extensive research into the struggles of the elderly and visually impaired, particularly their challenges in correctly identifying and consuming medications. The project commenced in September 2019 in Suwon and concluded in December 2019 in Hwasung, with an exhibition at Hypsung University Gallery in December.
The development of Pimoji presented several challenges, with the primary hurdle being the creation of a universally recognizable symbol. However, Choi's innovative approach successfully resulted in a pill design that offers a tangible solution to the prevalent issues faced by the elderly and visually impaired.
Jong Hun Choi is a prominent figure in the design industry, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful and purpose-driven design. His recent accolades include winning the A' Design Award in 2020 for Pimoji, further solidifying his position as a leading design thinker.
