Hyeming Tam's "Beyond Appearances" is a poetic art paint showroom that draws inspiration from classical Chinese gardens, creating a captivating indoor environment that transcends traditional imagery with contemporary aesthetic awareness. The project, located in Chaozhou, Guangdong, China, was designed between January 2020 and May 2021.

The space showcases diverse artistic paint, abstractly translating classical Chinese garden imagery. Through the interplay of light and shadow, changing scenery, and the flow of space, visitors are invited to transcend into infinite imagination as they wander through the silent space.

The design concept incorporates the diversity of artistic coatings, abstractly translating the imagery of Chinese classical gardens. The physical space expresses the interplay of light and shadow, with optimal pathways designed to better showcase and sell products for the business.

Hyeming Tam, based in Chaozhou, Guangdong, China, founded the firm in 2018, specializing in interior architectural design services for high-end private residences and boutique commercial projects. The firm's commitment to creating cutting-edge, high-quality space designs has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2023 for the "Beyond Appearances" showroom.
