Yuquan Li and Xinyu Zhang unveil Rock Fire Praise, a Japanese barbecue restaurant, recreating the scenes of human ancestors making a fire and roasting meat 12,000 years ago in the Altamira caves, Iberian Peninsula.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yuquan Li and Xinyu Zhang have unveiled Rock Fire Praise, a Japanese barbecue restaurant themed after ancient petroglyphs. The design integrates the concept of carnivorous justice with Japanese culinary pursuit, offering a dining area that simulates a cavern and furnace to arouse customers' appetites. The restaurant uses a color scheme of red and black to symbolize rock and fire, creating a tranquil yet eruptive style.
The project uses rough surfaced fumed oak and volcanic rock as the main materials, adding a sense of historical richness and authenticity. The second floor features bamboo fences, wooden hedges, and Japanese shoji doors arranged with a wabi-sabi style, neutralizing the sternness of the first floor.
The project began in May 2020 and opened for business in October 2020 in Shang Hai Sunshine Garden apartment complex in Longhu District, Shantou, Guangdong Province, China. The design aims to bring consumers a multi-sensory experience and evoke the association of justice to create a good brand image and reputation, increasing consumer stickiness and affection.
