FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Responsive Spaces, a studio for creative technology, has unveiled an innovative interactive exhibit, "Baseball Experience - Pitch," at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center in Little Falls, NJ. The exhibit, which went live in June 2018, offers a unique blend of the playful spirit of baseball with advanced technology, providing an immersive and educational experience for visitors.
The installation, designed by Responsive Spaces, features a 3x2 seamless display matrix with a secure glass front, allowing visitors to throw soft baseballs at the display-wall. The exhibit utilizes a laser range sensor and radar speed sensor to track the incoming balls' impact location and speed, which then drives the game mechanics in real time. The interactive installation aims to capture the essence of baseball, paying homage to the legendary Yogi Berra and his significant influence on the sport's culture.
Visitors can take part in the interactive game by throwing soft baseballs towards the animated pitcher on the display-wall. The impact of the ball on the glass is then translated into the game, allowing visitors to experience the thrill of the game while learning about the physics of baseball. The exhibit also features stylized illustrations and animations, along with statistics of the throws, providing an entertaining and memorable experience for visitors of all ages.
