Sarina Jamali introduces "Sama," a music pavilion inspired by the ancient Iranian Sama dance, designed to solve the challenges of street musicians and enhance the street music experience.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sarina Jamali's latest project, "Sama," draws inspiration from the traditional Iranian Sama dance, aiming to address the challenges faced by street musicians. The pavilion is designed to provide a dedicated space for street music performances, offering protection from the elements and enhancing acoustic quality.
Constructed with a metal frame filled with eco-brick material, "Sama" features a layer of micro-cement coating for durability and weather resistance. The pavilion also incorporates solar cells to power electrical and lighting equipment, making it a sustainable and functional space for musicians and listeners alike.
Connected to a music streaming platform, "Sama" allows artists to share their work and engage with listeners, creating a unique and interactive experience for both performers and audiences. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in 2022, showcases Sarina Jamali's innovative approach to urban design and her commitment to supporting street musicians.
