Walk of Mind - Innovative Shoe Design

Walk of Mind, a revolutionary shoe design by hadar slassi, introduces a groundbreaking concept in shoe fabrication. The project explores a new approach to shoe design, accompanied by innovative terminology, and is a compound of five stratas, each representing a fundamental earth unit. The strata compound method bridges the gap between modern digital technology and old-world craftsmanship, utilizing additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and traditional wet molding techniques. The shoes are personalized through a digital scan of the foot, ensuring a perfect fit for the wearer.

The design process involves meticulous planning at the digital stage, incorporating detailed specifications to achieve precise assembly. The shoes are lightweight yet durable, thanks to the skeleton structure and the unique leather compounding method, which reduces the use of leather by 80%. The project was realized between December 2019 and June 2019 as part of the designer's final project at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Israel.

Walk of Mind was the recipient of the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting creation that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The project opens new horizons for endless explorations in the shoe fabrication arena, combining digital planning and traditional assembly to create extraordinary excellence.
