Yu-Chen Lin's 'Blanc' project, a Japanese-style residential design, was completed in March 2021 in Taiwan, showcasing a unique blend of wood, architectural concrete, and light colors to create a fresh and elegant living space.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The 'Blanc' project, designed by Yu-Chen Lin, is a newly completed house with 122 square meters of space, featuring a public area for living, dining, and kitchen on the ground floor, a master bedroom on the second floor, and a double bedroom on the third floor. The design incorporates natural materials such as wood grain, architectural concrete, and high definition printing boards imported from Japan to create a Japanese minimalist space with a bright and elegant atmosphere.
The project's traffic flow is carefully planned, with the use of sliding doors to separate living and dining spaces, while also enhancing lighting and blocking cooking odors. The combination of wood grille and architectural concrete creates a Japanese home atmosphere, with the play of different color temperatures reflecting a clean and fresh feeling.
The project's rectangular layout posed challenges in natural lighting, which were addressed with the use of glass sliding doors to bring in natural light, divide areas, and maintain a consistent style throughout the public area. The design team also overcame the challenge of a small kitchen space by enlarging and extending the kitchen equipment to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the family.
