Jian Neng Chen's Contemporary Domain project, a fusion of modern urban and oriental classic styling, wins Bronze in A' Design Award 2020.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jian Neng Chen's Contemporary Domain project seamlessly integrates modern urban styling with oriental classicism, creating a captivating narrative of spatial layers that showcase collections of wines, books, and artwork while maintaining functional design. The project, completed in December 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, embodies the ongoing essence of contemporary urban styling, transcending cultural boundaries to interpret the coexistence of the old and new.
The design features an elegant Chinese styled sliding door, a reflective wall in the dining area, and a 1.2 meters glass sliding demarcating the domains, all contributing to the amalgamation of Art Deco Modern Styling with Classic Chinese Spatiality. The project's unique use of darkened mirror, glass mirror surface, and timber grille further accentuates the fusion of modern and classic elements, creating an avant-garde aura within the interior.
Chen's design team overcame challenges related to natural lighting, privacy, and functionality, ensuring a flowing and transparent space without compromising on the warmth of humanity and culture. The project's successful amalgamation of the east and the west has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020, acknowledging its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that contributes to quality of life improvements.
