Sheneve: Redefining Commercial Space with Elegance and Minimalism

Michelle Zhou's Sheneve project draws inspiration from the allure of a wedding dress called "adore," infusing the exclusive material and characteristics of the dress into a 400-square-meter commercial space in Wenzhou. The design embodies elegance and tenderness, redefining the traditional reinforced concrete facade with a neutral, lightweight aluminum awning, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere.

The realization of Sheneve involved innovative techniques such as translucent gradient perforated aluminum plates and soft lace gauze curtains, transforming the space into a flexible, visually expansive environment. The use of light gray Malay paint further enhances the space's texture, adapting to different lighting conditions throughout the day.

Challenges such as the original structure's numerous pillars and limited natural light were overcome through the strategic removal of redundant elements and the introduction of new design language. The unconventional display mode, featuring an extended golden tube for the wedding dresses, adds a touch of whimsy and fluidity to the space, breaking away from traditional corner displays.
