Julius Szabó Unveils Ossed: A Revolutionary Collector for Effortless Garden Maintenance

Julius Szabó introduces Ossed, a pioneering collector designed to alleviate the demanding work in gardens for elderly individuals and urban dwellers. Inspired by the need to minimize labor-intensive garden maintenance, Ossed is a game-changer for both countryside residents and city dwellers with green balconies.

Ossed stands out by collecting fruits and autumn leaves before they fall to the ground, harnessing the forces of nature such as gravitation, wind, rain, and freeze. The design minimizes the use of plastic materials, prioritizing sustainability by incorporating organic and locally-sourced materials.

Available in three sizes to accommodate various tree crown diameters, Ossed's installation and adjustments are intuitive, requiring no additional tools. The project, initiated in February 2019, was completed in May 2021 in Trstice, Slovakia, after extensive research and testing of 16 prototypes.

Julius Szabó, a renowned product designer from Trstice, Slovakia, is known for his innovative approach to product design. His collector, Ossed, has received the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Agricultural Tools, Equipment, and Machinery Design category in 2022, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary designer.
