Qixin Wu's Multifunctional Fabrics - The Last Blooming

Renowned designer Qixin Wu introduces "The Last Blooming," a textile design that draws inspiration from the decomposition process and the beauty of decaying flowers. The project, which commenced in January 2015 in Philadelphia and concluded in May 2021 in New York, showcases the unique properties of heat-pressed and naturally decayed materials, resulting in vibrant colors and a textural appearance.

Utilizing a combination of chiffon and cotton, the double-layered fabrics create a captivating shift in appearance when in motion, adding an element of mystery to the design. The harmonious repeat and vibrant motifs offer the layout more potential for expression, while the transparent look of chiffon contributes to the allure of "The Last Blooming."

Qixin Wu's "The Last Blooming" has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2023, acknowledging its practicality, innovation, and integration of industry best practices. This prestigious accolade celebrates the design's fulfillment and positive impact, solidifying its position as a well-crafted and innovative creation.
