Revolutionizing Retail with Tongrentang Zhima Health Concept Store

Tongrentang Zhima Health Concept Store, designed by Ao Zhang, introduces a groundbreaking offline experience store that redefines the retail landscape. The 5000-square-meter, 3-floor store in Beijing offers a unique blend of dietary supplements, nourishing health food, and health care products integrated with health tech, providing customers with an immersive and comprehensive shopping experience. The store also serves as a comfortable social space, aligning with the brand's commitment to enhancing the quality of customers' lives.

The design, led by Yong Wong, incorporates contrasting materials such as solid wood and brass, creating a visually stunning and inviting environment. From the ground floor to upstairs, the store is divided into four themes: inquiry, food, convalescence, and cure, offering a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Starting in May 2019 and completed in December 2019, the project reflects extensive research and strategic planning. Tongrentang and the design team conducted thorough field investigations, exploring various retail and hotel formats to develop a unique trade form that culminated in the creation of an immersive experience space.

The project faced challenges in finding the right design approach, as initial attempts with foreign design teams did not fully grasp the business model and specific needs of the brand. However, the team's perseverance and Tongrentang's support led to the successful realization of the backward development process, resulting in a remarkable retail model that aligns with the evolving demands of consumers.

Recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2021, Tongrentang Zhima Health Concept Store stands as a testament to exceptional creativity and innovation in interior space, retail, and exhibition design. This remarkable achievement underscores the store's significant impact on the retail industry, setting new standards for immersive and customer-centric shopping experiences.
