Union: Redefining Bike Security

Lyuting Ma's Union is a groundbreaking bicycle lock that reimagines traditional bike security measures. By ingeniously integrating the lock with the seat post, Union not only ensures the safety of the bicycle but also enhances its aesthetic appeal.

This innovative lock boasts three key functions: fingerprint unlocking, magnetic fixing, and reflective warning, providing a seamless and secure user experience.

Employing advanced fingerprint recognition technology, Union guarantees top-notch security while enhancing user convenience. The lock's magnetic feature allows for effortless attachment to the bike's seat tube, ensuring both security and ease of use.

With dimensions of 28mmx74mmx352mm, Union is universally adaptable to any bike, offering a versatile and practical security solution for cyclists.

The project, which commenced in Beijing in February 2020 and concluded in April 2020, has garnered prestigious accolades, including the 2020 Red Dot Award: Best of the Best and the Korea K-Design Award Grand Prize.

Through extensive research and engagement with cyclists and industry experts, Lyuting Ma and the design team identified the need for a more efficient and natural unlocking and locking process, leading to the development of Union.

Union's revolutionary design not only addresses the limitations of traditional bike locks but also contributes to the conservation of social resources, exemplifying a significant leap in integrated innovation for bike security.
