FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GOA (Group of Architects) has unveiled the Alila Wuzhen, a stunning modern minimalist hotel design inspired by the aesthetic tendencies of Oriental culture. The project, which started in 2014 and was completed in 2018, reflects the tranquil and pure architectural forms of traditional villages south of the Yangtze River. The design captures the essence of the region, abandoning straightforward decorative elements and introducing fine materials, concise structures, and quietly elegant colors with modern tones.
This 25000 square meter project takes villages south of the Yangtze River as its prototype, retaining the spatial forms, basic elements, architectural scales, and color relations of traditional tribes. The design perfectly reflects the multi-level and semi-transparent relations between buildings, plants, and the water surface, creating a serene and harmonious environment.
The Alila Wuzhen design features extensive use of glass, large span door leaves, and overhanging eaves, forming a continuous and orderly frame. The well-proportioned shapes and orderly layout of the building meet various functional demands, creating a unique and functional space.
