Ruba Wafa Tarazi's Academy project, a multidisciplinary office and meeting space, was inspired by the late founder's philosophy and the company's geographical reach, resulting in a modern and friendly open space design. The project was completed in October 2018 in Amman, Jordan, and has won the prestigious A' Design Award in 2021.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ruba Wafa Tarazi's Academy project is a unique and inspiring office space designed to reflect the company's history, growth, and geographical reach. The space features educational design concepts, including casual seating areas, a cafe, meeting rooms with graphics narrating the company story, multimedia interactive screens, a library, and information diagrams. The entrance is lit by a hexagonal lighting fixture, and various glass partitions are filled with gelatin capsules to create a friendly and educational atmosphere.
The project's total area is 650 square meters, spread across three equal floors of 216.6 square meters each. The space is designed to serve as a dynamic environment that encourages learning, creativity, and a sense of belonging among employees. It offers a variety of working setups, including benches, high desks, traditional desks, and casual seating areas, as well as interactive screens to enhance productivity and creativity.
The design also incorporates elements that reflect the company's industrial pharmaceutical background, such as a floating hexagonal formation of solid wooden frames and lights, as well as exposed metallic ventilation systems at the entrance. The use of warm natural wood, leather seats, glass partitions, textile curtains, and dark blue walls further enhances the space's genuine and educational ambiance.
