Seoulist: Redefining Touring Apps for Foreign Visitors in Seoul

Seoulist is a groundbreaking mobile application designed to enhance the experience of foreign tourists visiting Seoul. SUNGHEE LEE, the mastermind behind this innovative app, recognized the challenges travelers face in navigating the vibrant city and sought to simplify and enrich their exploration.

The app's three-step structure, comprising curation, guide, and log stages, ensures continuous communication throughout the trip, allowing users to interact seamlessly with the service. The user-friendly layout, optimized for one-handed use, caters to the needs of travelers managing luggage and utilizing public transportation.

Utilizing easy-to-understand graphic UI, Seoulist actively engages users of various nationalities, offering a responsive interface that adapts to their selections. The app's strategic placement of content facilitates effortless one-handed operation, addressing the practical needs of travelers.

The Seoulist project commenced in Seoul in May 2018, culminating in its exhibition at the Hansung University visual design graduation exhibition in November 2018 and subsequently at the DDP Young Designer Challenge in January 2019.

Extensive research based on the annual report of the Government of the Republic of Korea and careful consideration of tourists' needs and preferences have been pivotal in shaping the app's functionality and design. SUNGHEE LEE's dedication to overcoming technical and research challenges has resulted in a service that promises to redefine the tourist experience in Seoul.

SUNGHEE LEE, hailing from Namyangju-si, Republic of Korea, has been recognized for this exceptional design with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Mobile Technologies, Applications, and Software Design category in 2020.
