"Second Hand Life" Poster Design

Dong Jianhua's "Second Hand Life" is a thought-provoking poster design that aims to address the issue of fragmented information consumption in today's society. The design re-objectifies language into visual graphics, using a programming structured web language presented graphically through binary as a container. The series of 20 A3-sized posters, along with books, call for more attention to this public social issue, highlighting the dangers of fragmented reception of information.

The unique approach of "Second Hand Life" lies in its use of binary symbols to convey the theme, representing the discriminating acceptance of information and the ability to judge one's own thinking. By urging viewers to be cautious about fetishism and not to be led by fragmented information, the design challenges the prevalent reliance on second-hand experiences in today's society.
