Design Unveiling: "Memoir of Childhood Reminiscence"

IFTEKHAR ABDULLAH presents "Memoir of Childhood Reminiscence," a 240 sqm residential house in New South Wales, Australia, designed to reflect the owner's childhood memories and heritage. The terracotta-clad building stands out with distinct architectonic features and modern presence, ruminating stories from the owner's childhood.

The two-story building with a basement, located at the corner of Annette Avenue, Kogarah, captures nostalgic memories of the owner's childhood, such as fishing, kite flying, and folk music, reinterpreted as sculptures in terracotta. The terracotta cladding interprets stories in the building, reflecting the owner's heritage and reminiscence of untamed childhood moments.

The residence boasts two outdoor terraces, a rooftop garden with a spa, barbecue area, home theatre, and niches with uninterrupted stunning views, providing ample entertainment options for the entire family. The ground floor features guest accommodation, kitchen, dining, and living areas, while the first floor consists of four bedrooms, two ensuites, a bathroom, and a sitting area with adjoining balcony, offering remarkable views and ample sunlight.

The project, designed in 2016 and completed in 2019, is located in Kogarah, Sydney, Australia, offering stunning views of Botany Bay waterfront and the Sydney city skyline. The design incorporates thorough research on site elements, ensuring optimal positioning for natural lighting, ventilation, and protection from the Western sun and traffic noise.
