Autistic Children Training App

Shumeng Hou introduces Robot Partner, a groundbreaking training mobile app designed to enhance the social and emotional skills of autistic children aged four to six. With a focus on providing professional, convenient, and user-friendly interventions, Robot Partner aims to alleviate the challenges faced by families with autistic children, especially in developing countries where access to professional therapists is limited.

Robot Partner sets itself apart by leveraging the preference of autistic children for interacting with robots over humans. The app features a virtual robot character, Robot Xiaozhao, to guide children through training activities focused on Speech and Gesture, Emotion, and Social Communication. By incorporating the latest research findings on autistic children's preferences for color, sound, and visual elements, Robot Partner ensures a tailored and engaging experience for its young users.

Developed for the iOS system, Robot Partner is the result of extensive research projects aimed at understanding the neural evidence behind autistic children's interactions with robots and developing effective intervention techniques to enhance their social and emotional skills. The app's systematic intervention program is based on scientific findings, ensuring its effectiveness in improving the performance of autistic children.

Robot Partner was developed over a period of 17 months in Shenzhen, China, and has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the A' Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design category for its innovative and practical approach to addressing the unique needs of autistic children.
