Reusable Molded Pulp Carton Holds 13 Eggs for Small Producers

Randy Ludacer introduces the Baker's Dozen Egg Carton, a reusable, molded pulp egg carton designed to hold 13 eggs, catering to small egg producers who pack their eggs by hand. The unconventional 13-pack carton was inspired by the need to accommodate small-scale egg producers and is made of 100% recycled paper.

The Baker's Dozen Egg Carton, with dimensions of 210mm x 152mm x 72mm when closed, presents a novel arrangement of 13 eggs, featuring two rows of 4 eggs with one row of 5 eggs in between. While not yet practical for large assembly line packers, the carton is a distinctive and unique package suitable for farm stands, farmer's markets, and more.

Recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2020, the Baker's Dozen Egg Carton stands out for its innovative design, offering a solution for small egg producers who face challenges with traditional even-numbered egg cartons. The project, which took about 8 years to complete, has garnered attention for its creativity and practicality in the egg packaging industry.
