Wen-Hsin Tu's Innovative CORNNIE Seating Series

Wen-Hsin Tu's CORNNIE seating series is a unique furniture collection designed for corner spaces, providing a comfortable and relatively personal retreat without the need for physical barriers. The concept was inspired by the diverse interactions in in-between spaces, aiming to offer users a sense of comfort and seclusion in shared environments.

The seating series, realized using bendable plywoods glued and pressed on CNC-milled molds, comprises three pieces that can be put together to form a 1200mm*700mm*850mm unit. The design's curved legs create an interface between people and space, empowering users to experience their environment from a new perspective.

Starting in October 2018 and concluding in October 2019 in Berlin, the CORNNIE project was exhibited in the Berlin University of the Arts Design Master Graduation Show. Wen-Hsin Tu's research involved extensive exploration of corner spaces, leading to the development of prototypes that aimed to establish a strong connection between people, objects, and spaces.

Wen-Hsin Tu's CORNNIE seating series was awarded the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and trendsetting design that reflects the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The innovative furniture collection embodies extraordinary excellence and significantly impacts the world with its desirable characteristics.
