GTC Office Space: Redefining Office Design

Cache atelier, an architectural studio based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has unveiled the GTC Office Space, a groundbreaking project that redefines traditional office design. Located in Sofia, Bulgaria, this 450 m² office space reflects a unique blend of corporate and industrial aesthetics, offering a warm and welcoming environment with industrial touches. The space is a combination of a corporate feel found in the strict linear patterns of the wooden claddings that define the areas and a strong industrial feel of the exposed ceiling structure and ducts, showcasing the product of the company's business. The office space is a part of an office building recently constructed by the client, GTC, a prominent construction company involved with large-scale office and retail buildings in Europe.

The GTC Office Space in Sofia consists of separate personal offices for the different departments of the company surrounding a joined collaboration area that extends from the entrance and reception area of the space. The project follows the classical model of personal cabinets office space but breaks up the corporate model with a warm and welcoming environment with mere industrial touches. The research for this design was based on the overall values of the company and the personal needs of every member of the team to create the matching functionality of each cabinet and create a space that represents the company's values in the best way.

The creative challenge was to maintain the corporate feeling in the space while designing a welcoming and engaging environment, allowing employees to gather and discuss ideas. The GTC Office Space project duration was 6 months, with completion in January 2022. The design was awarded Bronze in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2022, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious approach that authentically combines experience and resourcefulness.
