Birth of a Royal Library Exhibition

Titled "The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop," the exhibition was a unique endeavor to create an elegant environment for the stunning books, aiming to help visitors immerse themselves in the curator's message. The exhibition took place from November 2018 to February 2019, featuring 67 codices from various parts of the world, including Paris, New York, Leipzig, Vatican, and Vienna, alongside those treasured in Hungary.

The exhibition presented a challenge in creating an integrated space within the library building, utilizing the upper floor rooms and additional areas to guide visitors seamlessly through the journey. The design team, led by Maria Gazdag, incorporated an interim space to prepare visitors before entering the exhibition rooms and upon exiting, ensuring a continuous and immersive experience.

Utilizing formaldehyde-free MDF and water-based paint, the showcases were designed to protect the codices while providing individual lighting for each book. The exhibition also featured interactive elements such as touch screens for virtual book browsing and a sound point for listening to translated scripts, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
