River to Ocean: All Gender Fashion Collection

Yiyao Nie's "River to Ocean" is a captivating all-gender fashion collection that embodies the metaphorical journey of self-discovery. The collection, showcased at London Fashion Week 2020 F/W, is a collaboration between fashion/textile designer Qiongxin Kou and 3D artist/creative technologist Yiyao Nie.

The "River to Ocean" collection consists of 6 looks, divided into 3 themes: "Meet with flowers", "Meet with air", and "Meet with earth". Each theme represents diverse life experiences, aiding individuals in discovering their true selves. The collection features 3 womenswear looks and 3 menswear looks, all in size medium.

What sets this collection apart is the innovative realization technology employed. Kou and Nie created their own fabrics for the flower and air themes, focusing on sustainable design. The collection features a new fabric manipulation method, incorporating zero waste techniques and dynamic constructions that give each look a fluid movement.

Additionally, the collection includes 3D printed pieces, such as hats and vests, designed by Nie. These pieces are crafted to mimic natural forms and are printed with white resin, adding a unique touch to the collection.

"River to Ocean" is not only a fashion collection but a journey of self-exploration, inspired by the pure emotions derived from nature and human experiences.
