Created to Stir Conversation and Promote Peace During Ramadan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mirna Noaman, in collaboration with a team of designers, has created a thought-provoking poster series titled "The Rules of War" to bring attention to International Humanitarian Law and its relevance to Muslim communities during Ramadan. The posters aim to spark conversations and promote peace by illustrating the similarities between International Humanitarian Law and Islam.
The series, which utilizes negative space to visualize the rules of restraint in conflict, was designed using iPad Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. The posters, measuring 1000 mm x 700 mm and weighing 200 gm, were created in Cairo, Egypt, during May 2019.
By highlighting the shared values of peace and humanitarianism, the posters have been well-received on social media platforms belonging to the Red Cross, where they have been widely shared and supported by the audience. The project aimed to bridge the gap between International Humanitarian Law and Muslim communities, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
