Ludan: Redefining Coffee Roast Spaces
WEI-NAN CHEN's Ludan design is a testament to innovative spatial design, creating a 16 m2 coffee shop that challenges traditional concepts. The space features a slanting front door that enhances visibility of the visual identity wall and fosters a unique customer experience. The open floorplan, centered around a triangular bar, encourages free movement and interaction, while the meticulous craftsmanship creates distinct spaces within the shop.
The Ludan design stands out with its use of metal, punched-plate steel, and wood, showcasing a blend of modern and traditional materials. The unique layout and design elements, such as the castoring triangle bar and gradiently arranged shelves, contribute to a captivating and functional space that redefines the coffee roast experience.
Completed in February 2020 in Douliu City, Taiwan, Ludan represents a harmonious fusion of form and function, earning WEI-NAN CHEN the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021. This prestigious accolade recognizes the design's exceptional creativity, technical skill, and contribution to enhancing quality of life through innovative spatial design.
