Engineering Renewal: Academic Exchange Center

Guangdong Urban Rural Planning And Design Institute proudly presents the successful transformation of the Guigang hospital bungalow into a modern Academic Exchange Center. The project, initiated in 2015 and completed in 2019, revitalizes the traditional building into a 962-square-meter exhibition space, preserving the collective memory of the older generation of employees while embodying the city's cultural heritage.

The renovation design prioritizes modern exhibition building features, incorporating new methods, technologies, and techniques to establish an orderly visual image. The project integrates glass, steel, and imitation wood materials to create a harmonious and functional space, including a painting and calligraphy exhibition hall and a sunny atrium activity room.

Under the leadership of Tian Tian, the project overcame creative, technical, and research challenges to inject fresh vitality into the historical building, creating a dignified, friendly, and concise new image for the Academic Exchange Center. The project was honored with an Iron A' Design Award in 2020, recognizing its practical and innovative design that meets professional and industrial requirements.
