Shiho Chu's Bi Wabisabi is a micro residence project that beautifully captures the essence of time and travel memories, creating a perfect living space in Taipei, Taiwan.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shiho Chu's Bi Wabisabi is a unique micro residence project that focuses on transferring travel memories and a nostalgic mood into a perfect living proportion. The design, completed in September 2019, is a testament to the designer's ability to reveal the fourth dimension of life - Time - in a physical space. The project, located in Taipei, Taiwan, beautifully captures the memories and emotions of the owners, creating a living space that reflects their treasured experiences.
What sets Bi Wabisabi apart is its focus on the element of time. The design reveals the memories from the fourth dimension, deeply concealed in the owner's heart, and transfers them into a perfect living proportion in space. By challenging the element of time instead of manipulating the space, the designers have created a space that naturally reveals the fourth dimension, allowing the owners to revisit treasured memories whenever they desire.
The project, covering an area of 26 sqm, was realized by prioritizing the owners' travel memories of Japan. The narrow, vertical height of the space was utilized to dominate the scene, with a bookshelf designed to fill the space from floor to ceiling, reminiscent of the memorable bookstore the owners adore in Japan.
Shiho Chu, the creative director, and Kei Chou, the designer, led the project, infusing it with their unique vision and expertise. The design, awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, stands as a testament to their creativity and professional excellence.
