NEO DESIGN introduces "Sense," a hair studio in Jiangsu, China, inspired by the Istoria hotel in Santorini, aiming to provide an immersive and emotional experience for visitors. The project commenced in April 2020 and was completed in May 2020.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEO DESIGN's "Sense" Hair Studio in Jiangsu, China, draws inspiration from the Istoria hotel in Santorini, offering a unique and emotionally engaging space for visitors. The studio aims to break the traditional mold of beauty stores by focusing on artful expressiveness and emotional interaction, providing a sense of ritual and space that goes beyond traditional hairdressing experiences.
The studio retains the texture of the original old building while blending new materials to create a different chemical reaction, resulting in a space that offers surprises beyond hairdressing itself. The design emphasizes direct visual communication of beautiful things from any angle within the space, promoting a sense of interaction and engagement.
Challenges in retaining the texture of the original building were overcome through extensive discussions on the shape, proportion of materials, and color shades of the reworked concrete wall. The studio was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 for its well-designed, practical, and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements.
