Luigi Mazzei's Cervinago Rosso packaging design, inspired by 40s noir movies, captures the playful and utopian values of the product while conveying critical elements, reflecting the wine's quality, territory, and origin.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Luigi Mazzei's Cervinago Rosso packaging design draws inspiration from 40s noir movies, featuring an elegant and seductive label that encapsulates the wine's character. The label, with a black background and 30s style typeface, exudes the mysterious allure of the era, reminiscent of the enigmatic femme fatale. The red lettering of Cervinago dominates the label, symbolizing the dark lady of the cinematic stereotype, while the back label features engaging infographics providing insights into the wine's production and characteristics.
The label is printed on uncoated, matt, woodfree paper with a tactile hand-made appearance, specially designed for luxury goods, wines, and beverages. The wine bottle, standing at 280mm in height and 68mm in diameter, features a main label (80 x 110 mm) and a back label (70 x 80 mm), adding to the overall aesthetic appeal and informative value of the packaging.
Mazzei's design project, which took five months to complete, was crafted in Trebisacce, Italy, and showcased at the 2018 Vinitaly International Packaging Competition, where it clinched the Bronze Label. The branding strategy, rooted in the semiotic square of Floch, effectively captures the consumer's attention, inviting them to explore the wine's content and its geographical origins.
