Creating a Dreamland Dessert Shop with FU CHIUNG HUI

FU CHIUNG HUI, the design director of Yuli Design, has unveiled a captivating dessert shop, Min Ben Chi, in Tainan, Taiwan. The project, which commenced in October 2019 and concluded in April 2020, has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design in 2021.

The Min Ben Chi dessert shop is a whimsical escape into a world of creative pastry and imaginative design. Inspired by the client's innovative approach to pastry-making, FU CHIUNG HUI has crafted a space that transcends the ordinary, inviting visitors into an enchanting realm of taste and vision.

The 132.23 square meter property features a blend of classical and modern elements, creating a seamless transition between different eras. The design incorporates unique features such as a preserved portion of the original building, intentional patina effects, and a variety of whimsical elements including a chandelier, guardian-angel mural, and a unicorn, all coming together to create a sense of wonder and delight.

FU CHIUNG HUI's design philosophy focuses on creating spaces that evoke a sense of well-being and delight. The shop's lighting plays a crucial role in transforming the space from a bright, translucent paradise during the day to a mysterious, forest-like ambiance at night. The design challenges were overcome with the creation of distinct spaces on each floor, with the first floor exuding an ethereal, goddess-like aura, while the second floor is adorned with pet animals, flowers, and a dreamy color palette.

Yuli Design's design director, Chiung Hui Fu, is known for her ability to create spaces that go beyond the classic, incorporating varied elements to fit the unique characteristics of each property. Her work has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award, showcasing her exceptional expertise and innovation in the field of interior design.
