"Life Savoring" Residence Design

Yueh Ju Tsai's "Life Savoring" project is a testament to redefining retirement living. The 119-square-meter interior features a living room, dining room, kitchen, balcony, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms, all designed with a focus on modernity, simplicity, and functionality. The elegant and low-saturation-color space creates a smooth flow and spacious pattern, using black and white as the main axis to avoid visual oppression and form a simple spatial order.

The design's unique feature lies in its consideration of the client's clean living habits, incorporating barrier-free space to accommodate declining mobility and aging-related challenges. The project also retains spaces for future safety facilities, ensuring a tailor-made living environment for the client's retirement years.

Overcoming the challenges of renovating a nearly 50-year-old house, the designer readjusted the layout to enlarge living spaces, improve flow planning, and enhance comfort. The project was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in 2021, acknowledging its practicality, innovation, and fulfillment of professional and industrial requirements.
