CHUANG, HSUAN- CHENG's JS-Space Interior Design unveils the award-winning Mu House, a residential space in New Taipei City, Taiwan, designed to harmonize with nature and family life.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHUANG, HSUAN- CHENG, the Creative Director Erica Liu, and the JS-Space Interior Design team have transformed the Mu House, a family residence in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The project, completed in August 2019, reimagines the 132-square-foot interior to accommodate the needs of a family of four, while embracing the breathtaking views of the long riverbank and surrounding mountains.
The design is distinguished by its emphasis on natural light, space allocation, and the use of environmentally friendly construction materials. The interior exudes a constant pattern of careful balance and mellow roundness, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere for the busy family to relax and unwind.
The main challenge of the design was to make optimal use of the scenic surroundings and natural light to create a sense of boundless horizon within the limited space. The designer's choice of grayish white hues for the entire house walls contributes to an atmosphere of comfort and elegance, enhancing the spatial quality and order.
CHUANG, HSUAN- CHENG's Mu House was honored with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authentically integrates experience and resourcefulness. The project exemplifies strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
