PepsiCo Design Latin America, in collaboration with NFL Mexico, has unveiled a limited edition packaging collection, celebrating the love for American football in Mexico. The collection, inspired by the dynamism of the sport, features an illustration style that captures the physicality of the game and exaggerates the players' proportions. The packaging showcases team-specific color palettes for the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders, and the New England Patriots.
To bring the excitement of the game to life, Pepsi directly connected the packaging design with a digital campaign, offering a unique football experience for fans. The limited edition packaging was realized using high-definition offset printing on aluminum cans, ensuring a visually striking and durable design. The collection was made available for purchase in traditional and modern channels, including stores and online platforms like Amazon Mexico.
The development of this exclusive packaging series took three months, from November 2020 to February 2021, in Mexico. PepsiCo Design Latin America worked closely with NFL Mexico to understand the most beloved teams by the local audience, ensuring that the collection reflected the passion and excitement for these teams. Despite the challenges posed by the global context, including restrictions on live events and travel, Pepsi successfully brought the thrill of the game into people's homes through this unique offering.
Pepsi's limited edition packaging series has been recognized with the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category for its exceptional and highly innovative design, showcasing unmatched professionalism and contributing to societal wellbeing.
