Yan Ru Chen's Yearning For Art

Yan Ru Chen's MU’S DESIGN presents "Yearning For Art," a modern guest house project in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, completed in January 2020. The design team sought to extend urban aesthetics into daily life through the fusion of spatial narrative and art, creating a space that evokes relaxation and leisure.

The project features a distinctive "black white gray" color system, aiming to evoke visual perception and relieve stress. The space integrates pure residential elements with a commercial touch, offering a rich visual layer through the use of stone surfaces, metal, rusted surfaces, and wooden louvers.

Spanning a 55-ping space, the guest house boasts an open and spacious public area, seamlessly connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen island. Glass sliding doors between public and private areas add a touch of mystery while ensuring personal privacy and security.

Championing a harmonious blend of the male client's preference for a clean, modern feel and the female client's desire for a gentle, elegant life, the project overcame design challenges to propose the most appropriate plan. The design was awarded Bronze in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
