Blue Lake County Residence Redesign

Renowned designers Wang Zhike and Li Xiaoshui have been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award for their exceptional redesign of the Blue Lake County Residence. Completed in December 2019 in Yu Bei, Chong Qing, China, this project covers an area of 1100 square meters and showcases a unique blend of natural, simple, and clean design elements.

The project's most notable feature is the transformation of the original basement structure into a tranquil Wabi-sabi space, perfectly highlighting the owner's antique collection. The designers incorporated Chinese elements and antique furniture, creating a sense of Zen and spiritual harmony within the space.

Utilizing materials such as KD board, log, latex paint, and antique bricks, the redesign also introduced innovative technologies, including built-in kick threads and invisible air conditioning outlets. The addition of sink light wells and a connection to the original garden eliminated darkness and dampness, enhancing the overall ambiance of the residence.

Wang Zhike and Li Xiaoshui's thoughtful approach to this project earned them the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. Their dedication to creating a comfortable, bright, and welcoming environment has set a new standard for residential design, contributing to significant improvements in quality of life.
