Peiyao Cheng's Tulip Candlestick Design

Peiyao Cheng's Tulip candlestick design, inspired by the elegance of tulips, has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2022. The design, made of ceramics, measures 55mm x 55mm x 70mm and is intended to create a joyful atmosphere for relaxation and meditation at home. The tulip metaphor represents spring, beauty, and hope in life, and the candlestick makes lighting scented candles much easier, exuding a faint fragrance from the flower-shaped candlestick.

This unique candlestick design allows for easy interaction, with a gap between the "petals" enabling the lighting of the candle with a matchstick. The flickering flame and subtle fragrance combine to create a pleasant atmosphere for leisure and meditation. The project, completed in Shenzhen, China, started in October 2021 and was finished in February 2022. The design team included Peiyao Cheng, Di Lu, and Junfeng Wang.

Peiyao Cheng, a product designer with a background in design research, aims to understand the value of design in influencing people and triggering behavior change. Her Tulip candlestick design is a testament to her innovative approach, blending functionality with elegance to enhance the domestic environment. The award-winning design reflects the dedication and creativity of Peiyao Cheng, positioning her as a rising star in the design industry.
