Scandinavian Style Renovation by Hsin-Hui Chang

Hsin-Hui Chang has transformed a 30-year-old apartment into a simple yet elegant Scandinavian style home, designed as a gift from a father to his newly wedded daughter. The white base, dark brown floors, and muted colors create a light, clean, and elegant space for the newlyweds.

The large scale of white in the space makes it light and clean, with dark wooden furniture adding weight and muted color décors, hexagonal tiles, and potted plants as soft touches. The project covers 73 square meters and features a dining table between the living room and kitchen, with metal pendant lamps and chair legs adding a dash of shine to the space.

Walking into the entrance, visitors are greeted with hexagonal tiles, creating a transition into the light space. The floating cabinet offers unexpected storage space, and the soft gray-brown color palette continues throughout the public areas. The study partition is made of glass, allowing sunlight to flow into the bedroom, keeping the room visually open.

Black Crystal Interior Design, led by Hsin-Hui Chang, is dedicated to integrating the unique and shared life experiences of each family member into home design. Based in Taipei City, Taiwan, Hsin-Hui Chang's attention to detail and commitment to creating comfortable living spaces have been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2021.
