SSS Litter Bin: Redefining Outdoor Trash Classification

Zhifeng Xu's SSS Litter Bin is a groundbreaking innovation in outdoor waste management. With a focus on transforming the traditional image of sanitation facilities, this design elevates functionality to an art form, offering a new level of respect for sanitation workers and users alike.

The SSS Litter Bin stands out with its bold contrast of maximized functionality and minimal material usage. It features the largest opening for dropping trash from two sides, along with a painted interior in two vivid colors to indicate recyclable and non-recyclable waste. The design also incorporates an upward-facing ashtray collector, providing a solution for outdoor smoking areas in compliance with indoor smoking bans.

Constructed using full-body welding of 304 stainless steel with fine brush finishes, the SSS Litter Bin is a testament to superior craftsmanship. The metallic baking paint and silk printed signs further enhance its visual appeal and functionality.

Measuring 900mm x 400mm x 1000mm, the bin boasts a 40L can liner capacity and a 5L removable ashtray, offering a comprehensive waste management solution for outdoor spaces.

During the Urban Design Festival 2017 in Shanghai, the SSS Litter Bin made its debut, replacing 20 existing bins on Yuyuan Road. The design received accolades for its ability to simplify maintenance for sanitation workers and provide clear waste disposal guidance for users.

With a focus on user experience and functionality, Zhifeng Xu's SSS Litter Bin has set a new standard for outdoor waste management, earning recognition with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2018.
