Andrea Brunazzi's Rivola bench, a monolithic seat designed to blend with the natural environment, has been awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Andrea Brunazzi's Panca Rivola is a monolithic seat inspired by the Italian landscape, reworking sensations transmitted by various rocks, from granite to marble. This organic design, created in 2010 in Torino, was developed to be positioned outdoors, integrating seamlessly with parks and gardens. The seat, made of reassembled marble powder, comes in various colors and is resistant to vandalism and atmospheric agents. Measuring 180cm in length, 43cm in height, and 60cm in depth, it continues to be sold worldwide, with a version in polished steel available on order.
Rivola's design was driven by the need for a seat that could easily blend into the environment, be reproducible in series with low production costs, and use natural materials. The project overcame several technical challenges to create an object that is easy to make, comfortable, and integrates well into the environment. The success of the bench is evident from its enthusiastic sales numbers over the years.
Andrea Brunazzi, hailing from Baldissero Torinese (TO), Italy, draws inspiration from nature, art, and different cultures. His passion for outdoor sports and old cars, combined with his love for colors and lights, fuels his creativity, leading to innovative and remarkable designs like Panca Rivola.
