Eyesbound: Portfolio Website Design

Julia Hell's Eyesbound portfolio website is a unique and innovative approach to showcasing photography. The design focuses on the strong imagery of the photographer, utilizing full-screen images as the main detail and keeping navigation elements simple and unobtrusive. The typographic logo scales down and transparentizes in full-screen mode, maintaining the focus on the images. With a minimal color palette of black and white, the design ensures that the emphasis remains on the photography.

The web design was created in Adobe Photoshop and realized using Drupal 7, CSS 3, HTML 5, and jQuery. The responsive web page features always-fullscreen imagery and fullscreen mode in supported browsers, providing an immersive viewing experience for visitors.

The website can be operated by mouse and keyboard, with navigation kept simple to maintain a flat flow and keep users engaged. The project started in May 2014 in Berlin and went live in August 2014, with minor iterations still in progress to the present day.

Julia Hell, a freelance graphic designer based in Berlin, has been recognized for her exceptional design with the Eyesbound portfolio website, winning the Silver A' Design Award in the Website and Web Design category in 2016. Her work reflects outstanding expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
