Revolutionizing Children's Mental Health Care: Mind Without Borders

Chien-Chen Lai introduces Mind Without Borders, an app revolutionizing children's mental health care during the spread of infectious diseases. The app facilitates anonymous communication, health tracking, and connections with psychotherapists and volunteers, aiming to alleviate the decline in children's mental health as a result of the epidemic. Mind Without Borders integrates regular health information return, secure and anonymous global communication, and experiences the joy of writing and receiving letters, reducing anxiety for children.

Utilizing IoT technology, the app connects children worldwide, enabling the understanding of their physical and mental well-being through health big data profiles. The app allows for anonymous communication, health tracking, and connections with psychotherapists and volunteers, mitigating the decline in children's mental health due to home quarantine or long-term home-study.

Mind Without Borders is a child-friendly anonymous communication and global social app that connects pen pals through text, voice, and video messages. It is expected to be released on Android, iOS, and PC platforms, offering a unique opportunity for international volunteering and aiding disadvantaged children.

Chien-Chen Lai, along with the design team, addressed the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of adolescents and youth, the challenges faced by parents in managing their children's negative emotions, and the lack of access to psychological expression for children. The team overcame creative, technical, and research challenges to create an intuitive and child-friendly app, ensuring that children can use it easily and effectively.

Mind Without Borders was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in addressing children's mental health needs during challenging times.
