Simone Hutsch, a passionate graphic designer and architecture photographer, captures the surreal pastel dreamworld of Porto's traditional buildings, blending pastel colors and golden hues to create a unique architectural photography series.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Simone Hutsch's latest project, "Prt," showcases the traditional and unique buildings of Porto, Portugal, in a surreal pastel dreamworld. The series, inspired by the "accidentally Wes Anderson" vibe of the city, features the oldest European centers and is renowned for its port wine. Hutsch's photography captures the essence of Porto's architecture, infusing it with a surreal and peaceful ambiance.
Using Adobe Photoshop and a Sony A7rii, Hutsch brings to life the pastel dreamworld of Porto's buildings, highlighting the golden gutters and clouds that support the surreal vibes. The JPGs are designed for large prints, making them suitable for exhibitions in galleries.
The project, which began in January 2022 and was completed in March 2022, presents a unique challenge as many buildings in Porto appear similar at first glance. Additionally, the narrow streets posed difficulties in capturing the perfect shot, while post-production involved meticulous retouching to remove distracting elements.
Simone Hutsch, also known as heysupersimi, is a Berlin-born, London-based photographer whose work combines art and photography to create a different world. Her unique perspective and retouching process give her architectural photography a surreal touch, inspiring viewers to see buildings in a new light.
