Sky Soft Plus: Sustainable Contact Lens Packaging

Schalcon spa revolutionizes the contact lens industry with the environmentally friendly pack design of Sky Soft Plus. The Soft Flat Pack reduces packaging thickness by 90% and material use by 80%, eliminating plastic from the outer packaging and incorporating recycled material from production waste. This innovative approach underscores the commitment to sustainability, making eco-conscious choices more appealing to consumers.

The project started in September 2023 and finished in November 2023 in Rome, and was exhibited in Mido Fair in Milan in February 2024. The design was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding expertise and innovation in sustainable product design.

Designed for user-friendly simplicity, the packaging promotes sustainability by reducing waste and environmental impact. The lenses are housed in a recycled blister, and the eco-friendly graphic printing is clear and engaging. This transformation has made an environmentally conscious product more accessible, enhancing the overall user experience.

The project addresses several challenges to improve the sustainability and accessibility of Sky Soft Plus monthly contact lenses. Overcoming these challenges is crucial to realizing the project's goals and advancing towards a more sustainable and consumer-friendly product.
