XpreSole Panto: Redefining Rainboots with Sustainability

Ccilu presents XpreSole Panto, a revolutionary rainboot made from upcycled spent coffee grounds, addressing the environmental impact of coffee consumption. Each pair of XpreSole Panto boots repurposes 15 cups of spent coffee grounds, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The innovative design process involves community engagement, from material harvest to reuse, promoting a circular economy.

The boots feature a waterproof shell made from a special XpreSole compound containing spent coffee grounds and lightweight EVA, while the lining incorporates coffee yarn and polyester. The outsole, also made from the unique XpreSole compound, is enhanced with EVA and high-performance rubber pads, offering exceptional durability and grip. Moreover, the boots are machine washable, making them a sustainable and practical choice for consumers.

Wilson Hsu, the President of Ccilu, spearheaded the project, aiming to create a carbon-neutral footwear line by the end of 2021. The innovative approach to utilizing spent coffee grounds in footwear production has earned XpreSole Panto the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2021, recognizing its outstanding sustainability and design excellence.
