ZHOYU's Living Center Renovation in Handan City, China, Completed in March 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ZHOYU's Handan Zarsion project, a Living Center renovation, breathes new life into the once forgotten Handan Oxygenerator Factory, founded in 1946. The design aims to revitalize the industrial heritage and bring hope to the city through urban renewal.
The project's unique "ä¸"-shaped layout perfectly fits the narrow urban corner land, forming an urban square with chamfered corners to maintain interaction and openness, stimulating the vitality of the city.
Featuring 18 metal shuttle-shaped louvers on the second floor, the design creates a dynamic moire pattern, presenting a three-dimensional industrial aesthetic and a sense of future and fantasy.
By chamfered corners, architects formed an urban square to maintain the greatest interaction and openness between the living center and the city, injecting new energy into the city and providing a vibrant space for residents to engage in various activities.
The project, which started in December 2019, was completed in March 2020 in Handan City, Hebei Province, China.
The Living Center renovation is part of the city's urbanization updates, adapting to the new productive relations and overcoming creative and technical challenges to beautify the structural intention of the old workshop.
ZHOYU, based in Shanghai, has received the Silver A' Design Award for this remarkable project, showcasing outstanding expertise and innovation in architecture and building design.
