Private Residence Project: Poly Tianyue Xiyuan

Lianhua Yang's Poly Tianyue Xiyuan is a private residence project with over 800 square meters of space, located in the bustling CBD area of Guangzhou, China. The design concept is inspired by the relationship between space, order, and light and shadow, aiming to go beyond functional requirements and provide users with an immersive experience.

The project started in 2020 and was completed in December 2022. The design integrates Chinese Bagua elements into a French-inspired luxurious setting, skillfully incorporating Bagua patterns and metal rivets to enhance the overall sense of enclosure in the space.

The design features a dual ventilation system with passive cooling and ventilation caps to regulate indoor temperature, along with meticulous attention to detail in the selection of exquisite soft furnishings and material textures.

The entrance, serving as a buffer zone, features a gracefully curved, 2-meter-long wall with textured fish belly white marble and a metallic foyer installation, creating a visually striking contrast. The deliberate differentiation in flooring materials emphasizes the seamless flow between spaces, enriching the overall spatial composition.

The design exudes an elegant and refined appreciation of life, offering a space for relaxation, reading, and enjoying the surrounding landscape. It embodies freshness, fluidity, and tranquility, representing a vessel for cultural and spiritual expression.

The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
