Meet Mama: The Community Chair Redefining Seating Solutions

Baldanzi & Novelli introduces Mama, a revolutionary community chair designed to meet the diverse needs of modern spaces. This stackable, connectable chair is a versatile seating solution suitable for conferences, training courses, informal meetings, waiting areas, and outdoor activities. Crafted with a monocoque structure in polyamide reinforced with 20 percent glass fiber, Mama boasts high technical performance while expressing simplicity, lightness, and elegance. The chair's backrest features a unique surface inspired by the sea, designed to enhance natural body transpiration and ensure ergonomic comfort. Available with or without armrests, Mama is a completely recyclable chair, setting a new standard for sustainable seating solutions.

Designed in Italy by Baldanzi & Novelli, Mama is the result of extensive research and innovation, aiming to reduce components while achieving the same goal. The chair's design challenges were overcome through meticulous calculations of thicknesses, compliance with international rules and standards, and maintaining an attractive design. Mama's unique properties include optimized vertical stacking of up to 10 chairs, a joint system for horizontal connection, and the option for armrests, making it an ideal choice for various settings. The project commenced in March 2020 in Ponsacco (PI) and concluded in December 2021, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of community seating solutions.

Recognized for its exceptional design, Mama has been honored with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Office Furniture Design category in 2022. This accolade celebrates Mama's outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence, setting it apart as a top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable design.
