Kevin Heyu Yang designs a 1,000-square-meter property for a retiring couple in Meinong, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, blending traditional Hakka settlements with modern living.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kevin Heyu Yang's Lin's Courtyard House draws inspiration from the traditional Asian 3-section courtyard dwellings, harmonizing with the southern Taiwanese climate. The property, completed in December 2023, reflects the site and function, offering a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The reinforced concrete structure incorporates stone tiles, clay roof tiling, steel, glass panels, and local red screen blocks, creating a serene retirement living space.
The project, initiated in 2020, posed challenges during the pandemic, requiring meticulous research, onsite visits, and a dedicated construction team. Despite delays due to COVID-19, the design maintained its integrity, showcasing Yang's commitment to quality and innovation.
Recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, Lin's Courtyard House stands as a testament to Kevin Heyu Yang's dedication to creating exceptional living spaces that enrich the lives of their inhabitants.
