Wingly Shih's Festival Light Installation in Tainan City, Taiwan, Transforms Historical Elements into Vibrant Christmas Display
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Wingly Shih presents "Raised History," a festival light installation that breathes new life into Tainan City's historical elements. The installation, designed for Christmas, utilizes wooden lattice to form the shape of a tree, with changing colors of light projected onto canvases at the bottom of each layer, creating a vibrant and diverse display. The project, which started in November 2023 and finished in December 2023, infuses the entire harbor area with a lively festive atmosphere.
Employing the sailboat keel structure from the port's establishment 400 years ago, the installation creates a rhythm with undulating curves, giving the entire tree an elegant and dynamic appearance. Situated near an old canal, the brilliant array of colors makes the entire installation a visual focal point, transforming the area into a lively and vibrant space.
The festival light installation spans 700cm in width, 700cm in depth, and 1650cm in height, and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2024 for its innovative and practical approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
